About Me

Hello! I’m Wendi Christensen, LCSW

With over 26 years of experience in the social work field, I know how to help others get rid of the darkness in their lives and once again experience the light.

I have had my own private practice since 2004 as an intuitive Christian counselor who helps individuals elevate to their higher self by helping them RELEASE PAIN through the gift of forgiveness, RENEW HOPE using tools for immediate stress relief, and RESTORE LIGHT through the healing power of gratitude.

Additionally, I facilitate and teach women’s Christ-centered healing retreats that enable women to heal, connect, renew, and rejuvenate. When I have spare time, I love doing fun activities with
my husband and three amazing kids, in addition to singing and reading WWII novels.

My Story

I graduated with my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Social Work from Brigham Young University. This has allowed me to work with a wide variety of clients and situations including the elderly with Hospice and Home Health, a part-time ER crisis worker at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, eight years as a school social worker, and over 18 years running my own private practice which I currently operate in Kaysville, Utah.

When I worked for Provo School District, I oversaw nine schools, including a young mother’s high school and special needs school. Additionally, I’ve ran several grief and divorce groups. I served as a member of the Hope Task Force providing grief counseling and education surrounding suicide. I also started and piloted the first Hope Squad—a school-run peer Suicide
Prevention Program that runs throughout the state and now nationwide. I served as a member of the Utah County Crisis Team and I am currently a parent advisor for my children’s elementary Hope Squad, helping other schools in Davis District and teaching suicide prevention awareness.

I completed my training for Good Touch/Bad Touch Motivation & Prevention Programs, Inc. in August 2003, and became a certified instructor in training and teaching the Good Touch/Bad Touch curriculum. I’ve taught this program to over 1,000 elementary students in Provo School District.

In 2005, I became trained and certified in Graf Stress Management using kinesiology (muscle testing) and forgiveness techniques to accelerate healing among my counseling clients.

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission to Helsinki Finland. I have served as Relief Society President, Young Women’s President, and as a counselor in the primary presidency. My practice focuses on Christ-centered principles to help
marriages, individuals, and families achieve lasting results.

"Before coming to Wendi, I had never gone to counseling before. I didn't really know what to expect, but I hoped to learn some skills to improve the anxiety I had been experiencing. As I've visited with Wendi, not only has she has helped me to overcome my anxieties and fears, but she has also empowered me by helping me to forgive past and present hurts. Thanks to her skills and compassion, I now feel more confident in myself, and I feel joyful about what I have to offer."
